Happy New Year 2026!
I am happy to present Afarion iPlayground, a Moodle-based interactive learning platform designed specifically for hands-on ns-3 network simulations.
Afarion iPlayground provides a fully sandboxed, browser-only environment where students, educators, and researchers can write, execute, and visualize real ns-3 simulations without any local software installation. By eliminating setup complexity and providing a secure execution layer, the platform delivers authentic simulation outputs—including logs, traces, NetAnim animations, and performance metrics—directly within the learning interface. It is the ideal solution for structured academic courses, guided laboratory sessions, and simple network experimentation.
Key Highlights:
- Zero-Install Learning: Access a complete ns-3 environment via any modern web browser.
- Integrated Visualization: Visualize NetAnim, NetSimylyzer based trace files instantly after execution.
- Seamless LMS Integration: Experience a structured curriculum powered by Moodle.

Afarion iPlayground – Free Beta Access – January 2026
A One-Day FREE BETA ENROLMENT for an introductory ns-3 course on Afarion iPlayground will be available during the first week of January 2026.
After completing a free user registration, learners can enroll in the beta course:
Introducing Afarion™ iPlayground for Hands-On ns-3 Network Simulation
Due to limited hardware resources, only 20 users can be enrolled at a time to explore the platform’s interactive features.
Always-Free Course
In addition to the beta ns-3 course, Afarion iPlayground also offers an always-free course:
Introduction to Code Golfing with C/C++ on Afarion iPlayground
This course allows users to experience the platform’s interactive coding and execution environment without any enrollment limits.
Based on learner interest and demand, new courses will be added. The hardware capacity may be expanded for future paid courses.
