- MIP headache in ns-2
I have been trying to simulate simple examples of MIPv4 in NS-2 for a simulation period of 2400 seconds but for more times than not my simulations just seem to hang up.
I have a 36 nodes grid wired networks in a 2400m x 2400m area with 180 mobile nodes. I am examine registration details for 20, 40 60 up to 100% of nodes mobile but after sometimes as little as 540 seconds the simulation seemingly stops. I am using a Sun Blade 2700 running Solaris 9…
Any ideas why this may be the case??
Try the following. You may solve your problem.

Chrles Pandian.
I have look at the resources you sent and while I must say thank you, they don’t appear to have valid information. The event id in ns-2 is now a int64_t as opposed to int32_t and the trace files size are well within range when the simulation hang. I have reduced the memory overhead by removing unused headers but I don’t get the impression that memory is a problem because I am not generating that many packets.
I have looked at the other “fundamental solutions” but I am not sure they apply to a MIP scenario.
Any other suggestion anyone??
