some of the simple errors of this kind can be resolved by modifying the code little bit (like using type casting). Otherwise we have to change the gcc version if we face LOT of such errors during compilation.
When i created a new user and tried to install same package it installed succesfully. then why it is not able to install on my current user account do i have clean up something after deleting ns-allinone-2.34 and then reinstall??
thanks

This may be due to the wrong path/environment setting in the profile of that particular user (.bash_profile – which is a hidden file – which sets some environment variables -ns2 installation will add few lines in to it – or you may be set some thing wring in that profile )
#ls -a will show all the files including the hidden ones.
use vi or any other editor to edit it.
