This problem may be due to the gcc version of Fedora 9. Try installing lower version of gcc.
OR
Try installing higher versions of ns2 on Fedora 9
OR
Try ns2 on lower version of Fedora.
ns2 can be installed on RedHat Linux (I tried only on old versions of RHL) without any gcc related issues.
